The Division Between Headcanons and Readings

The books and writers that are considered as belonging to the canon are almost always the subject of argument and tend to change with the times. The future of character headcanon generator generators lies in the integration of AI and machine learning technologies. These advancements can lead to even more sophisticated and nuanced character profiles.

In April 2010, the LiveJournal community headcanonftw[13] was created to share theories from different fandoms. The term dates back to Ronald Knox’s 1911 essay “Studies in the Literature of Sherlock Holmes” to distinguish Holmes stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle from those penned by fans of the character. The term “headcanon generation” has been used to describe fan-given traits since as early as July 2007, when a LiveJournal fanfiction author used the term to describe her interpretation of the mother of Gwen from the animated sci-fi franchise Ben 10. This is “Just a Reminder,” where current fan discussions spark up commentary on comic book history. This time around, a debate about what comic book characters would or would not do leads to a reminder that headcanons only exist in your head – character histories go way beyond that.

We are an international collaboration of talented individuals who have come together to display the creative abilities of people on the autism spectrum and others who are neurodivergent. Our mission is to provide a forum to connect with those who wish to employ these abilities. The Art of Autism accepts many art forms, including blog posts, art, poetry, video submissions and requests for book and film reviews. We seek diverse viewpoints including those from autistic people, parents, siblings, therapists, and others. We look to partner with organizations with similar goals for awareness, acceptance, educational events and the provision of opportunities for our participants.

It’s not canon in the game, but it has a backstory and history and continuing development. You probably have someone acting as the loremaster authority shaping their vision, but the best ones leave room for people to add their own twist to it. Friends in High Places Canon characters are everywhere in an MMO.

If enough people get the message and accept the message, then it becomes part of the religious tradition. UPG is Unverified Personal Gnosis – information and wisdom that comes to individuals through means that can’t be objectively confirmed. It’s things you learn in dreams, in trance, or through divination. It isn’t something you made up or something you think is true.

Because of that, the idea of headcanon is very valuable for comic book readers. If there are multiple different versions of a comic book character, then it is completely logical that you should pick the one that you like the best, and read the comics with that in mind. As a for instance, there have been many different takes on Ted Kord over the years. If you liked his portrayal in Giffen and DeMatteis’ Justice League International, you are free to interpret the character with that in mind, and wish that he be portrayed in line with those comics.

What no one will appreciate, however, is you proclaiming that you won the presidency with a 90% majority. They also probably wouldn’t appreciate you claiming that your ragtag group of mercenaries have successfully toppled the Australian government. Utilizing Canon Characters and Locations While using locations and characters that are easily recognizable to other players might be a tool, they should be approached carefully and with a great deal of tact. More importantly for our uses, canon, retconned or otherwise, is extremely important because it’s something we can all agree has or is happening. There is no debate as to who the Rikti are, where they come from, that they have staged two full scale invasions, and still have a presence on Earth.

But if someone says to cut it out, then cut it the fuck out. Your headcanons are not better than anyone else’s and they in no way have to listen to you. They barely have to listen to canon, and that’s just so that the character is recognizable enough to be played.

Basically, as far as the game world and lore are concerned, you should always pay more attention to the intention of the authors than limitations or expectations found in MMO’s. It will go a long way to help keep threats feeling like actual threats when dealing with them ICly. Randomly starting fires, mugging people, hanging out on street corners with bombs, etc.
