Erectile Dysfunction Medicines Seized In Glengormley

Erectile dysfunction seized in Glengormley

8 April 2011

Large amounts of unlicensed medicines have been taken by Department of Health officials during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A guy was interviewed by department officers about illegally importing and subsequently supplying unlicensed impotence medications by means of the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medication offences.

He will now be the topic of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department’s Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, said: “It is vital that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medications can be unsafe.

“These kinds of items being sold, normally online, have actually gone through no quality assurance and there can be no guarantee about their security.

“You merely do not know what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More importantly, you do not know the effect drugs like this might have on your health.”
